As we all know, life is still not back to normal in most countries around the globe. Of course, I am talking about the Covid-19 fight. So, how can we escape, at least for a few hours, from all the craziness that is happening around us? Maybe virtual reality is the thing you should give a try!

It will certainly be nice to escape the loneliness and isolation for some time and dive into new worlds possible with VR. It won’t hurt to turn off the TV or mute the news. Give your emotional and mental health a little brake.

One of the things you can do with your VR headset is watching movies. Unlike the movies we watch on TV or computer, VR movies are shorter, but they are more immerse. A lot of them offer 360-degree video. A virtual realm is a place where you can also interact with other people using a VR headset, thus providing you a safe way to talk to other humans.

Luke Skywalker was living his life peacefully when he met a woman named Rey, who asked him to teach her the ways of the Jedi forces. Of course, this is a twist in Luke’s life. On the other side, General Hux and Kylo Ren are leading the First Order in an attack against Leia and the Resistance to gain the galaxy’s supremacy. VR is exactly how this movie should be watched as the environment offer no shortage of lightsaber battles and chases. It is a remarkable piece of visual effects best seen with VR.

3. Cargo

If you are a fan of zombie movies, then maybe you should check out Yolanda Ramke and Ben Howling’s movie Cargo starring Martin Freeman. This high-speed movie is probably best seen with Netflix VR in your home cinema. This movie’s plot is set in the wilderness of Australia after a pandemic has wiped out most of humanity. The scenario is around an infected father who is trying to save his daughter from the zombies by finding her a safe home. After not successfully finding caretakers for his daughter, he joins this girl Thoomi, who has a tribe that hunts the zombies. This movie has a fast pace and an intriguing storyline with amazing visuals, making it a perfect VR movie option.

4. El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

This movie is directed and written by Vince Gilligan, and just like in the Braking bad TV show, the main character is played by Aaron Paul, aka Jesse Pinkman. Jessie manages to escape from captivity and is on the run because he is wanted for involvement in a firefight where nine people died. This is a gradual tension building action movie that is a good choice for your VR goggles.

5. Incredibles 2

Animations are top movie choices that are best watched in VR, and the Incredibles 2 is one of them. The family of superheroes is returning for yet another adventure. The plot builds when the family finds that their baby Jack-Jack has emerging superpowers. This adventure movie appears very innovative and dynamic as it is full of action and instant decisions. Combined with its intense color scheme and design, all that makes this movie one of the best choices to watch in VR.

6. The Little Prince

This one is a family-friendly movie animation directed by Mark Osborn. This animation borrows the voice of Rachel McAdams, Jeff Bridges, Paul Rudd, Benicio Del Toro, Marion Cotillard, and Riley Osborn.

The movie is made after Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s book. It is about an aviator who crashes in Sahara, where he comes across the little prince who comes from another planet and shares his adventurous stories all over the galaxy. The movie makes a parallel and shows us an old man who becomes friend with the little girl living next door and shares the little prince’s stories with her. The old man becomes the little girl’s only friend.

This is an amazing animation with a very emotional plot and with even more amazing visuals. It can easily become one of your top 5 VR movies to watch.

7. The Ritual

Yet another Netflix original movie based on Adam Nevill’s book with the same name, The Ritual. Like most horror movies, this one is full of strange occurrences, gloomy mood, and murky details.

The story of this movie starts with a group of friends who decided to go hiking into these unfamiliar woods. The movie will present to you a family of cannibals, a rogue mutant, an eerie critter, and a witch. All of them dwell in the forest and manage to kill the hikers except one. This only survivor manages to solve the mystery of what happened to him and his friends.

This horror movie has a striking imaginary and surreal lighting, very usual for this category’s movie. All of its features make this movie a good candidate for an amazing VR experience.

8. The Hole

Director Joe Dante brings you this thrilling movie The Hole starring Chris Massoglia, Teri Polo, and Haley Bennett. A very simple plot about two boy brothers Dane and Lucas, who came across this mysterious hole located in their house under a locked trap door in the basement. The hole allegorically leads the two boys through the deep and dark corridors of their nightmares and fears.

9. Chasing Coral

The captivating and powerful essence of this movie makes it a good VR movie experience for the audience. Directed by Jeff Orlowski, this movie portraits a team of photographers, divers, and scientists who take on an assignment to document how the world’s coral reefs have disappeared. This movie will show some of the most unbelievable natural wonders from the Earth. Also, it will showcase the continuing destruction of the coral reefs and how they desperately fight for survival. The movie will open your eye to the fact that the corals’ ongoing destruction might be irreversible. It is an interesting documentary that has its main purpose of raising awareness and hopefully inspiring people to take some action.

10. Invasion

The plot is about two aliens that plan to take over the world, and once they got to The Earth, they were welcomed by two cute bunnies. The narrator of the movie is Ethan Hawke. The movie has amazing visual and beautifully-designed animation, a good VR option for you.

11. It: Float

If you are a horror movie fan, then It: Float can be something to your likings. This is a modern spin of the classic “It” movie directed by Stephen King, and it one of the best-made movies in the horror category. As such, it was inevitable to make a VR option for the movie as well.
